Walks are free: taking your pet for a walk at the local park can provide enjoyment for your pet and some free exercise for you. Just make sure to use a proper harness and leash so your pet doesn't escape.

Learn how to groom your pet: Ask your groomer or vet to teach you simple things you can do at home to groom your pet. Brushing, bathing, and nail clipping are easy once you know the basics.

Ask your Vet for help: Vets, like their human doctor counterparts are attracted to the profession because they like helping. If your pet is sick and needs expensive medication, many vets will be happy to help work out a payment plan or negotiate a discounted rate.

Don’t skimp on food quality. A poor diet will create health problems long-term. Also, buying cheap food could end up costing more as pets may overeat to get the nutrients they need. Buying in bulk is cost efficient. Make sure to consult with your vet about any special dietary needs your pet may have.
